Whew! we made it to summer, and are loving every bit of it!! I'm enjoying not having the 'mad rush out the door' crazy mornings that the school year brings. Carson made some really good friends this year at school and is reading like crazy (finally:). Kindle had her recital and took 2 rounds of swimming lessons this summer and she is starting to get the hang of it! We made it to a Rangers game and saw awesome fireworks, had fun on the boat, went to our first bombers game, enjoyed fireworks there as well as tonight on top of the roof of MAYS business school (so fun!), soaking up the sun and chillaxing with family and friends! I LOVE SUMMER. some pics for all:

Carson found the golden egg. He was so sweet, he gave it to his teacher. He came into our room the morning of giving it to her (the student teacher's last day) and told us he "was giving it to her because the best way to not have a love for money is to give it away." This was his prize possession, so sweet.

Alyson (roommate/teammate from Baylor) got married (!) last weekend... Kit and I got to go kid free to Austin to celebrate with the girls! We had a great time, Rob is such a great guy and a great Dad, we are so thrilled for Aly. Here are some fun pics of the weekend...

Man! Postings are getting fewer and fewer as life kinda routinely goes along. We are back in full swing of things! Kindle is in gymnastics and dance (tap and ballet), and goes to mother's day out T/Th's, but she mostly enjoys playing with her best friend Marisa down the street:) Carson is doing great in Kindergarten and is now on a 1st grade reading level (never thought I would say that-reading is NOT his favorite thing...he IS my son!), and he is signed up for spring baseball starting in a few weeks! I am still training 2 teams and trying to keep our house 'show worthy' since it is on the market! I am in CBS, and most of all I love being a mom! Kit loves his job still, and is working over time since the recent addition to his job responsibilities!! Today was a slow day-yay!!! 1 dentist appointment for Carson, and then it started to snow!!!!! I decided, like a good mom, not to take him back to school at 12:00, but to take him out to lunch with Kit, a little shopping, and then relax with some hot chocolate and some fresh falling SNOW!!!! Last year when I was so giddy about it snowing it was seriously the first time it had snowed here since we moved from Waco 8 years ago. So what a treat today to have it snow AGAIN!!!!! I would love to live in CO if I had any reason to! OK. Sorry for all the exclamations here are some fun pics:

We went to Florida for my cousin's wedding, and were able to take the kids to Disney! We only went for one day to Magic Kingdom, but we made it through most of the park. It was such an awesome day, I can't believe my kids are old enough to BOTH love going! They are so much fun now-a-days!!! Here we are:

Carson was so worn out after a flight, rental car, hotel in same bed as Kindle, junk food and 5 miles of walking, he finally asked us about 3 o'clock in the afternoon if we could leave! Being the good mom that I am, took the receipt (to get into Disney) out of my pocket... looked at it... and told him 'NOPE! you still got 3 more hours-man up'. HA! poor kid.

Oh, this is totally Kindle! She loved meeting Ariel.

It was a great trip! The kids loved the airplane, and all the excitement! They got to meet my Grandmother on my mom's side for the first time! We stayed with GG for a night, and played on an awesome playground at her house, went to my cousin Jimmy's beautiful wedding, and and flew back home all without any drama that normally accompanies youngsters! SUCCESS!!! Unfortunately we only had our video camera at the wedding, so I don't have any good still shots from there. But MAN! Carson loves to get down on the dance floor! I'll leave you with that suspense:)

For the first time, we took family photos! They were outside, and I cannot wait to see them. I spent 2 days shopping around like a mad woman trying to get matching outfits without looking too matchy-matchy! So we all were in a form of browns, greens, and jeans-for outside pics I think it will look really good with the trees and foliage (I hope), we'll see! Anyhow, we came home cold and tired and took a picture of our own under the tree. So, until we get our pictures back...

Sweet Potatoes

I have been sick the past 2 days (never fun with kids), and just needed something to make me smile, thought you might enjoy it too:) This is Kindle having her first taste of sweet potatoes when she was about 6 or 7 months I think-can't remember. I need to write an update on Carson-his test results came back benign!!!! Praise the Lord! He is in the clear, but we will have it removed after it heals from the biopsy just so we don't have to worry about it in the future. Thank you everyone for asking about it! I really do appreciate the concern for him!

On a lighter note, I walked into the living room the other day and saw this:

Next,

Party time at a friends house. Kindle's little friend turned 3 on Saturday here we are at the party:

She is super cool, but that's not why she is wearing the glasses. Her right eye is very sensitive to the sun (the doctor told us it would be too-lazy eye that is).

Football! Almost all of Carson's games have been rained out, so they really haven't had enough practice to get the hang of it, but this was a good night-I think Carson is starting to get the hang of it!

He scored a touchdown!!! He ran about 25 yards in the wrong direction-he said it was to draw all the players one way, and then he turned the corner and sprinted up the sideline where I was standing, and all the way to the end-zone. I was so nervous when he was running the wrong direction (but I knew he knew where to go) I just didn't want a 35 yard loss for him and the team! I was anxiously awaiting the turn! When he did make the turn up the field I didn't realize that I was yelling 'go carson go! go! go!' and was missing taking the pictures, so the pictures are blurry as he was running past me, but you get the idea:)

He has a great coach...daddy (the other coaches are awesome too:)

Well, we have had a lot going on around here. A little bit of refining you could say. This verse is a great verse for what has been up in the Kerbel house lately:

'I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, "They are my people," and they will say, "The LORD is our God." --Zechariah 13:9b

I love how the Lord uses the circumstances in our lives to draw us closer to Him.

Well, at the Beginning of September I found out I was expecting baby #3. I even took those pics of the pee stick and all! Things were great for about 2 months, and when I was 8 weeks pregnant I miscarried.
This is the first miscarriage for us, so we didn't really know how to think or feel. I know that God is the giver of life, so I'm feeling at peace with everything. So this is pretty much where we are now! I am so blessed with the 2 God has given us! Also...

If you would join us in prayer (on a side note) for Carson. We went to the dermatologist today where they had to biopsy a mole on his scalp. The Dr. would not say much, but said that it had the 2 red flags he looks for-it was irregular in shape/color and was also bigger than 6 mm. We will know the results in 4 days, so please pray for a benign result!! All he would say is that he couldn't tell from looking at it. His tone when speaking about it caused more concern for me than anything he said. I don't feel comfortable about it's placement if it does come back bad-right on his head! not good for a lot of reasons. Anyhow, please pray for him!

Not a whole lot is going down, other than life, but here are some latest pics. Kindle started gymnastics, and Carson dressed up for book fair week where you dress up as your favorite book character. He really wanted to dress up like Harry Potter (I know, I know, the Harry Potter thing:) but he sure did look cute! I think he just wanted the glasses.

Rode bike to school

Carson wanted to ride his bike to school-he's getting so independent, I want to encourage him to think for himself and to make good decisions, but reminders are non-stop coming out of my mouth. Here we are going through his checklist of things for school, how to behave, how to find ways to bring joy to others. His bible verse yesterday at church I absolutely love for a morning send-off:

Psalm 119:9 " How can a young man keep his ways pure? By keeping it according to Your word."
This is my prayer for Carson today, you all know he/I need it! Hopefully he won't tie someone's shoelaces together today!

Carson will be at public school full day starting on Monday! A friend and I were talking about it, and we said how it feels like there is no going back! Once they start school, they are now on their way to growing up, and I know it goes by so fast! I am more nervous about it than Carson is-he is TOTALLY ready and excited! We had parent orientation last night, and today we had meet the teacher. He has a young, sweet (yet stern;) teacher that I think will be a GREAT fit! I was such a dork, and took my camera (not even first day of school), but here is my young man in his first class by his cubby-

This picture makes me smile. Kindle was in my closet this morning with me when I was deciding what to wear for church, and she wanted to try on my shoes she had picked out for herself! My highest heals-Kit grabbed this pic with his phone while I was strapping her right heal. She tried to walk in them on her tippie-toes, and shortly later decided on my flats. So cute, trying to be like mama:)

Oh, that reminds me. My rico suave son AKA Carson, saw this girl coming out of the store yesterday and said- 'hey mom, that girl is hot just like you!' I can't believe he said that!!! I don't even think he knows what he said! I hope not!!! I might need to have Kit have a talk with him! That in combo with Kindle saying 'wheeeeeeew, I see those boys on that motorcycle, I want to ride with them' (a few months back), Kit and I are in trouble! yikes.

We have been so busy, but FUN busy! I know I will miss these days when school starts in 3 weeks! NNOOOOOO! The kids had their combined birthday party-I wanted low key and in time for GG from Florida to make it. GG made it, but low key it was not. I have had a pool party every year for 6 years now, and NEVER has it rained (much less in the last 3 months). Well, the 1 day it does rain, and the exact hours of the party, did it pour!!! well, we frantically moved the party inside and called all the parents to the bounce (I had 3 out of town group of drivers, and 30 kids). My awesome friends offered so much help-even took my kids in the morning so I could scramble (Thank you!!!), and wallla! a non-low key fun birthday! Carson is 6 (on the 14th of this month) and Kindle is 3.

On that same day we went to the lake house in Conroe and got stuck in traffic from people evacuating the chemical fire in bryan-what a strange day, but a wonderful day that the LORD had made:) Here are some fun pics:) And what a wonderful day it was!

I am overjoyed and thankful for my Godly husband, my healthy kids, a loving family and the gift of friendship.

Today is sweet Kindle's birthday! This morning (hence bead head) we had a puppy cake and blew candles out for her! Her party is on Thursday-she is SO excited, well maybe about the cake. She is 3!!!!

After I took this picture I realized Carson was licking up every last drop! Typical Carson! No sugar coma (like at Kit's party :)

We grew up with the tradition of having a cupcake for breakfast-Kinda fun for once a year! It always made our day special:) so I thought it would be fun to continue that!

This is Mt. Aggie... This is Carson's true love. He LOVES this place, this is actually where he wanted his party. This is his 3rd time here, and so much fun! Kindle joined in on the fun too! This is what you call a bad day. I cracked up laughing after opening the door to put Kindle in her car seat. I noticed that this cricket had head butted the car ... and lost. Apparently he didn't clear the wheel rim. Poor guy, he is still there. He rode that way all the way through town and to a birthday party, and back. He has given me much laughter today!!! Nice header form though!

Thank you Sammie and Mima for the new camera (birthday present). It takes really cool pictures, and we were able to get some action shots of carson sliding into home. There was really no action, no ball, no one really even around. He just wanted to slide-everyone cracked up on the sidelines! No one else was sliding, he just felt the need.hehe

Today Carson's team, and all the teams of College Station baseball league, were introduced on the Aggies Olsen Field. They had their pictures made early this morning, and later were introduced as teams. Here are some fun pictures-I absolutely can't believe how big he is and how much fun it is having him:) He LOVES baseball. Wesley's mom and I had to laugh when we got teary eyed when they called their team (Marlins) out onto the field, it seems like yesterday they were in diapers! Gotta love the fievel ears!

Carson had his VIP week at school, and Kit and I had fun going up to his school and sharing with the class. Today we made Easter cupcakes with frosting, 'grass' (green coconut), and eggs (jelly beans. We discussed why we celebrate Easter, and then we made cross necklaces. I took different colored string for them to choose from. The joys of a Christian school:) Thanks Grandma for the crosses:)

One of his VIP days, we took our figure 4 trap and showed the class how the trap works, and brought these pictures of how we caught a opossum! It's NOT cute, it's ugly and hisses...

In other news- for all you moms who have babies, or are about to, this is a preview of what your children will be doing in about 4 or 5 years! (I'm thinking of Shelly-they get older so fast, and you will get to sleep in again-I remember mom telling me that). We had friends over a few days ago, and they dressed themselves into costumes and Wesley was going to town on the ninja kicking-Hilarious!!!! I love when you catch them really playing, and get a glimpse into their 5 year old mind. so fun.

Ever since I can remember Carson has LOVED baseball. I actually made him play soccer this fall b/c I knew that once he started baseball... there would be no other! It is so strange b/c Kit was always throwing a football to Carson, and I was always kicking the soccer ball to him. And what does he do? He goes to the garage (leaving us with the football or soccer ball in our hands) and picks up a bat and ball and starts playing baseball..?

Baylor Soccer

ok-I promise I will never talk about this again!

Today we had a big alumni day at Baylor soccer. The new coach has done a great job getting most of the Big 12 champ team back together to help 'revive' the program. She brought in Randy Waldrum (who now coaches at Norte Dame) to inspire the current team. He honestly is the best coach I have EVER played for, and his record speaks for itself.
One of the best years I have had was when we won the Big 12 my freshman year. The team was unique-we worked hard, but laughed just as hard. It was fun to see everyone after 9/10 years. Sorry about the volume-I am posting TONS of pics for my parents b/c they invested so much time supporting my play. They grew to love all the players and family too! You have to click on them to really see them. So, here's for you mom and dad:)

Here is my feeble attempt at change...My hair is now auburn-ish brown with blond hi-lights. I have bangs too-i am too chicken to wear them though. I have been telling my hairdresser for years that one day I am going to cut all my hair off for the cute bob look that I love. I just can't do it!! I want to though!

One more note-please pray for my muslim convenience store friend. I talk to her on occasional Thursday's as I get a water for Kindle on the way to school, and I have had it on my heart to share the gospel with her for a very long time. I picked up a few pamphlets from our church on Jesus the Savior, and Eternity and shared those with her today. Please pray that she will read them and that her heart will be softened to hear God's truth and that the Lord will work a mighty work in her and save her. I remember our pastor saying how his dad was lead to Christ by someone handing him a gospel tract-how cool! She is so sweet, and tells me about her son and I really enjoy seeing her:)

OK! scratch the previous post- It started snowing like crazy! We had so much fun:) The kids were running around outside, we made hot chocolate inside after Kit got home, had dinner, rode in the car with the kids in our lap through the neighborhood to look at all the lights while the snow was falling, and made a snow man! whew! what a day. I sound so much like Carson right now-I think I was more giddy than the kids:) here are some cool pics (It has not snowed like this EVER here in good 'ol College Station-ok not since we have lived here:)...

Oil Ranch

Last friday carson got to get out of school early and go to oil ranch with aunt jenny and kindle. they had a great time! it was a beautiful day-the weather was perfect, and the kids were great. here are a few pics:

The new Kinna!

Actually our new term for her since we never actually call her by her name is 'T'. Short for kinna-t, now just 'T'. Kindle has a slight lazy eye and when her eye muscles got tired she started closing that eye, and it would actually turn out for a brief second. The doctor said he noticed ptosis (asymmetry) of her eye lids (only caused from the eye getting tired). We really got great news from the doctor though. He said that it was a slight problem-not major, and that patching the good eye would force the lazy eye to strengthen. This is 60% successful in patients and we are praying that this solves the problem. God is awesome to us because her vision is not affected, and is actually perfect!!!! yay!!

I absolutely love the fall! The weather is awesome and I get to decorate the house and the front porch! We went and picked some pumpkins from the pumpkin patch here in town-it was a beautiful evening and so much fun. Here is a little of what Ike brought through here. not too bad, but we did experience high wind gusts up to 70mph. there are some trees over and limbs down but over all we weren't on the bad side of the storm. the whole sky sounded like it was howling-so eerie and cool at the same time!!! thanks for all the calls to make sure we are ok. Jenny and Brittain are headed down to Houston to see how their house and office held up-say a prayer for them! thanks!!

Carson started 1/2 day kindergarten, and Kindle will go to mother's day out t/th's! This is really exciting for him and her-they both love their classes! In fact, Kindle wants to stay every day when I drop carson off. Getting out the door with packed lunches, brushed teeth, everyone dresses, breakfast etc. by 8:00 am is a challenge b/c kindle likes to sleep in! so far so good. here are a few pics-I can't believe I have a school kid!!!!! yea!!!!!

We have had an awesome summer, and have been busy busy busy:)! To start, I combined the kids birthday party since they are only 2 1/2 weeks apart. That, and I only had to throw 1 party. Carson is 5 and Kindle is 2. here are a few pics:

Kindle's almost 2?!!

I can't believe Kindle will be 2 in a few weeks! I just added some pic's and ran across these lovely pictures of our 'baby'.

Her name is so special to me. Her name is kindle to remind me not to let my spiritual flame go out. I had a rough adjustment to motherhood and let my flame dwindle somewhat after having Carson. God is good though, we have a great church and have loved growing in the Lord:) Her name was to symbolize my commitment to staying strong in my faith even after a hard adjustment of having a baby!

I have such a great group of girlfriends from college. We try to get together once a year, and this year we went to Playa Del Carmen. We had a great time and the whole trip was beautiful!!!

We went to a public beach that only the local's knew about, and were pretty much the only one's on the beach-this was near the Mayan ruins in the Caribbean

I love the miracle of the ocean stopping. Think of all the tons of water and sea life, and then God just tells it to stop.

1st trip to the ER!

I am really surprised it has taken almost 5 years for this, but last night was our first trip to the ER!! Carson gave us a real scare...

I'll start by saying that I never really like to hear "look mom no hands!" It gets my blood pressure sky high immediately. I think Carson would run across the top of his monkey bars about 10 feet in the air with no hands just to give you an idea about him. He also thinks that the top of the fort is where the playing needs to take place. He stands on top of the highest part of the fort (about 12 feet in the air) as if he has conquered it (in his underwear no less-he wants to currently be Tarzan?). our house backs up to a street and I know drivers get a kick out of this-either that or they are really concerned about what is going on.

Anyhow, when he gets on the bars it's not ok to just hand by hand go across, he is going to go upside down. His head is pointed straight to the ground and I frequently freak out thinking his hands are going to slip off, or accidentally let go and break his neck on the ground. This is DEFINITELY a time when I don't want to hear "look mom no hands!"

Carson came home from school on Monday saying "I accidentally let go." This got my concerns up right away b/c I knew what he was talking about. He had landed on his head (he wouldn't give me a straight answer), and complained about a headache all week. He said his head and neck and back hurt. I usually say "get up you are alright (this is what we heard growing up)." SO... "you're alright Carson" was my reply.

So Thursday he had a bloody nose at the pool, Friday he was screaming his head hurt and asked "do I have a scratch in my nose?" and " There is a bar under my pillow." I took him to the minor emergency and they sent us home saying watch for throwing up. sure enough 1:30am(!) we heard him come into our room and got on our bed holding his head and crying then...he threw up. 2 times. I said "That's it! we are going to the ER."

To make a long story short (too late:), Carson got a CT scan of his head, and thankfully everything was normal! The doctor thinks he either had a response to pain, or he was coming down with a stomach bug that was totally unrelated. He was a great doctor that really seemed to be concerned about Carson's health. He said that he normally doesn't scan kids heads because of the exposure to radiation, but the throwing up concerned him about bleeding in the brain. Praise God for protecting my crazy little man! No major injury. We are so blessed, and this whole ordeal really shows it. Carson could have easily been hurt badly.

Thank the Lord for your wonderfully made kids! No matter how crazy they are! he he

Our Memorial Day fun!

The kids are getting to such a fun age! we went to the Lost Pines Resort near Bastrop last weekend to celebrate Kit's birthday, and it is such a cool place! unfortunately Kindle was sick, so I don't have any pictures. I wanted to make sure to capture this weekend's fun-here goes...

We went with some friends down to Austin to the Volente Beach for Memorial Day. The kids had a great time! After a fun day at the water park, we went to this really cool place to eat called The Oasis. We had never been there before, and I LOVED IT! The view was awesome, and I just love new adventures-especially with great friends! Here are a few pics!

Carson was scared to death of this pretty vertical ride, but rode it like a champ! I took a bad pic, but when you zoom in you can see his face. He looks like a deer in head lights!

What a beautiful view! I absolutely love Lake Travis-even though we are from College Station:) This is where we ate dinner-awesome.

apparently this is carson's girlfriend, emma. he says that "she is so beautiful, so beautiful, so beautiful to my eyes". I thought I had at least 6 or 7 more years until this started!!! It is our secret that...the only reason carson snagged her is because mason moved away! hehe

we have been extremely busy lately, so these pics are a little old, but it was fun for carson to have his last day of preschool and 'graduate' to kindergarten!

we had to get rid of our climbing tree b/c it was dead, so we decided to make a pit where it was and use the limbs for a camp fire . we are country folk who just happen to live in the city, but pretending that we are in the country! college station is not really a big city, but we are longing for some land to have these kind of camp fires etc.!!! carson was having so much fun, and he got to have marshmallows too!

like i said earlier, we want to pretend we are in the country-that's a street light, not the moon...

i always accidentally catch the marshmallows on fire?! not very good at it, but still fun!

on another note, all you mom's out there please tell me you have had one of these moments- i took carson to the dentist for the first time, and he did awesome! he sat, he obeyed, kindle was great, everyone is telling me that they are soooo good, and i am feeling TOO proud, b/c as we were getting complimented and right in the middle of the doctor saying 'carson you did soo....'

carson turns around b/c kindle had his toy and slugs her right in the gut-with a closed fist! the doctor finishes his statement with '...goo...d'-you know like really slow and quiet. she screams, i turn red, carson grabs for his toy, the doctor excuses himself, and i think, what happened! nice.

We are so thankful for our family, but more than that we are thankful that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead so that our sins can be forgiven and we can have eternal life in heaven! My prayer is that the Lord would give our children new hearts and eternal salvation. here we are on Easter:)

i came across this in our i photo, and thought it was such a sweet (all too rare) mommy and daughter time when we were just swinging and holding hands-papa snapped this before we saw him! i love my little girl and pray that as she grows, so will the strength of our relationship! she is starting to hit the terrible 2's and man 'o man -she is just like her mama!:) any advice out there? i have been through it once, but i have a harder time spanking a girl on the hand to teach 'no touch!' i am trying to start disciplining earlier than with carson-i think he was too set in his ways before we realized-uh oh! we are in trouble! p.s. shepherding a child's heart is a great read by tedd tripp!

a BIG thank you to mima/sammy for the awesome trampoline!!! we had some friends (matthew and marissa) over to play and spent most of the time outside on the trampoline and fort. wesley and carson bounced yesterday and had the best time for 2 hours outside!!!!

Another BIG thank you to grandma/papa for the awesome fort!!!! it is so nice to have for the kids and all their friends to play on for hours and hours!!!!
